How to remove audio from video

When it comes to video editing, removing audio is one of the first things that people learn how to do. The reason for this is simple: most of the time, we don’t need the audio in our videos. So this is always a useful skill to have. In this blog post, we’ll discuss several ways how you can do it (including for free)!

Adobe

Adobe Premiere Pro

Removing audio from a video in Adobe Premiere Pro is a very simple process. Here are the steps:

  1. Open the video that you want to edit.
  2. Click on the ‘Audio’ tab at the top of the screen.
  3. In the ‘Audio Clip’ section, select the audio clip that you want to remove and click on the ‘Delete’ button.
  4. Click on the ‘OK’ button to save your changes.

That’s all there is to it! Audio can be readily removed.

Windows Movie Maker

The process of removing audio from a video in this software is also simple. Here are the actions you need to take:

  1. Open the video that you want to edit.
  2. Click on the ‘Audio’ tab.
  3. In the ‘Music’ section, select the audio clip that you want to remove and click on the ‘Delete’ button.
  4. Click on the ‘OK’ button to save your changes.

Again, this is a very easy process and takes only a few seconds to complete.

Final Cut Pro

If you’re using Final Cut Pro and want to remove audio from a video, here’s how:

  1. Open the video that you want to edit.
  2. Click on the ‘Audio’ tab at the top of the screen.
  3. In the ‘Music’ section, select an audio clip or multiple ones by holding down ‘Command’ while clicking on them.
  4. Click on the ‘Delete’ button below the clips.
  5. A pop-up window will appear asking if you want to delete the selected audio or move it to the trash. Click on ‘Delete’.

Your audio has now been removed from the video! This process is a little more complicated than in some of the other programs we’ve discussed, but it’s still easy enough to do.
